Mega First Corporation Berhad is a diversified group of companies with three main divisions – Power, Resources and Packaging & Labels. The Power Division builds and operates a 260 MW run-of-river hydropower plant in Laos (Don Sahong Hydropower Project) as well as undertakes solar photovoltaic investment business activities. The Resources Division is engaged in quarrying of limestone, manufacturing and trading of lime products, calcium carbonate powder and bricks. The Packaging & Labels Division manufactures a wide range of printed labels and stickers, paper bags and flexible packaging products for multiple industries.

The Company was incorporated on 25 April 1966 and is headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

Incepted back in 1999, Pekat Group has carved a niche for itself in the building industry, as a turnkey solution provider for lightning protection, earthing or grounding and surge protection technology. In 2006, Pekat ventured into Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems, partnering with world renowned brands and products through its subsidiary, Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd, the first to receive ISO 50001:2011 accreditation in Energy Management System.

Pekat Solar is registered with SEDA as Registered Photovoltaic Service Provider (RPVSP) and Investor (RPVI). Products carried by Pekat Solar are also certified by MGTC (Malaysian Green Technology Corporation) through MyHijau brand marking.

MFP Solar Sdn Bhd (“MFP Solar”) was incorporated on 29 August 2019 and currently an 55%-owned subsidiary of Mega First Corporation Berhad (“MFCB”) where remaining 45% equity interest is held by Pekat Teknologi Sdn Bhd as strategic partner.

MFP Solar is principally engaged to undertake solar photovoltaic investment business activities, as part of MFCB Group’s expansion plans and strategy to grow the renewable energy business. Being a solar investment company, MFP Solar engages directly in Commercial and Industrial (“C&I”) solar projects to provide a capex-free solution for its C&I target customers (i.e. Multinational Companies, Public Listed Companies and Government Linked Companies who are financially strong) to save on their utility payments and enhance green corporate image, typically on Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) business model.

MFP Solar has been accredited with Registered Solar Photovoltaic Investors (“RVPI”) by Sustainable Energy Development Authority (commonly known as SEDA) on 17 January 2020.
